Hey Ferdinand, thank you so much for finding time to answer my #TuesdayTalks question - I’m so glad to have you here! Could you please introduce your self in few words?
I’m Ferdinand and better known on social media as Vegains. I live in Berlin, the capital city of Germany and I’m passionate about spreading the plant-based lifestyle through social media.
How long have you been vegan and what Inspired you to make that transition?
Almost 5 years. I wanted to build muscles and believed a plant-based diet could increase my performance. It did! I built over 20kg of lean muscle mass and also got rid of my acne really quick.
How do you respond to people saying you can’t gain muscle on a vegan diet?
Look at me! I show them transformation pictures that where they can clearly see that I went from a skinny guy to a muscular guy on a 100% vegan diet. It just comes down to eating enough calories and protein, which plant foods have in abundance. Training progressively (where many people fail) & being consistent.
Can you share with us your workout routine? How often do you train?
5x per week. 3x upper body, 2x lower body.
How does your typical “day on the plate” looks like?
6pm huge bowl like a buddha bowl
with snacks in between like fruits, veggies, nuts, corn cakes etc.
And lastly - what is the number 1 advice you would give to someone who wants to become a strong & healthy vegan?
Follow your highest excitement and if becoming a strong & healthy vegan is something that excites you, go follow it.
